Our Services

Comprehensive Eye Examinations

At Central Penn Vision Associates, we emphasize the importance of annual ocular health evaluations.  Annual examinations enable our doctors to monitor the eye and surrounding tissues for any changes or early signs of disease.  Early detection of diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy can help prevent or at least minimize permanent vision loss.  Our eye examinations also include checking each patient’s corrective prescription.  Our doctors know the importance of taking their time and providing our patients with an accurate corrective prescription.

Pediatric Eye Examinations

Children’s bodies are continually changing and so are their eyes.  Rapid visual changes can occur in children which make annual eye examinations extremely important. We welcome all children two years of age and older.

Eye Wear

Our opticians take the time to listen to your visual needs and help select frames and lenses that fit your lifestyle.  Glasses are often the first thing you put on in the morning and the last thing you take off at night.  We recognize how important it is to find glasses that are comfortable and instill confidence in you at the same time.  Our frame selection includes a wide variety choices from trendy designer styles to basic everyday glasses.

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are available to correct almost every prescription; whether you have an astigmatism or need bifocals.  Our doctors will determine the best option for you and will work to satisfy your visual needs.  We have a wide array of contacts to chose from, including rigid gas permeable lenses, multi-focal, toric, and colored contacts (depending on your prescription).  Ask our staff how you can save money by ordering a year’s supply of contacts at one time.

Emergency Appointments

Time is often of the essence in ocular emergencies.  We encourage our patients to call us immediately if they are suffering from an eye infection or eye injury.  If you call our office with an ocular emergency, we make every effort to fit you into that day’s schedule or make other arrangements to ensure your needs are met.

Lasik Co-management

Our doctors will answer any questions you may have about LASIK and can help you decide if LASIK is right for you.  We also provide pre-operative and post-operative care at our offices.

Optomap Retinal Examination

The optomap retinal examination provides our doctors an ultra-wide field digital image of the retina in a fraction of a second without the use of dilation drops.  The optomap provides a permanent image to store in each patient’s medical record which assists us in tracking subtle changes in the retina over time.  It is located at our Philipsburg office.
